10th Annual Shira Herzog Symposium: Extraordinary Leadership in Extraordinary Times

13 September 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Sunday, September 13th – 2PM Eastern, 11AM Pacific

These are unprecedented times. The pandemic has revealed inequities and vulnerabilities in each societies it has affected, including in Israel. And there is no playbook for how to respond to a global health crisis. What is inspiring to see are the civil society leaders in Israel who immediately mobilized to do the unprecedented: defend democratic values and equality, even while the world around us is changing every week.

On September 13th, meet three such leaders from NIFC’s 2020 funded projects who are addressing Israel’s most urgent needs in a time of ever-changing crisis. This year’s virtual event will feature Raluca Ganea, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Zazim — Community Action, the largest people-powered movement in Israel; Gil Gan-Mor, Unit Director – Civil and Social Rights at the Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI); and Orly Erez-Likhovski, Director of the Legal Department at the Israel Religious Action Center (IRAC). Learn more about our three speakers here.

The annual symposium is named after Shira Herzog (z”l). Shira Herzog was a Canadian-Israeli leader, a loving critic of Israel, and a major supporter of NIFC before she passed away in 2014. Learn more about her here.

Register below for this year’s virtual symposium. We will send you a link to join the event a few days beforehand.
